You may then contact the property manager or owner directly to ask follow-up questions or reserve the property.

How does VacationRentalOptions.com search function work?

Vacation rental property managers and/or owners create an online account and submit information about their property or properties. Each rental is listed as a separate web page on VacationRentalOptions.com, which displays information about the property features and local activities, rental rates, photos, and contact information.

Visitors to VacationRentalOptions.com are able to search this database to locate vacation rentals that meet their unique requirements. Potential renters can search for a rental property by geography (e.g. country, state, or city) or property amenities (e.g. wheedelchair accessibility, pet friendly vacation home, waterfront rental). Renters then can make an inquiry directly to the owner either by calling (if the phone number is published) or by filling out an online inquiry that is forwarded to the owner.

Can I check the availability of a property online?

VacationRentalOptions.com offers its memebrs a fully integrated availbility calander. Members decide wheather to activiate this feature on their listing. The "Availability" button appears on the first page and Rates/Policies page of the listing if the feature has been activited. However, it is always best to contact the property manager/owner directly to verify if the property is available for the time period you're interested in renting.

What does VacationRentalOptions.com consider a "Coastal" property?

Coastal means different things to different people. Someone who frequents the ocean will have a different mental picture than someone who frequents a small lake. Because of the uniqueness of each property we do not use a mileage cutoff. Instead we believe in listing properties which are in "close proximity to water including properties that are located in Coastal and Shoreline areassuch as oceans/seas, gulfs, lakes, rivers/streams and islands. We encourage you to verify with the property manager/owner the exact location of the property you are interesting in renting. In addition, we offer links to a number of location mapping tools to assist you in your vacation rental selection decision.

What is a Visitors Account?

A visitors account is a free service VacationRentalOptions.com offers visitors to its website. When you create a visitors account, you may quickly save vacation rental properties you are interested in and return to these listings quickly the next time you visit VacationRentalOptions.com. Unlike other listing services, we do not write "cookies" on to your hard drive to track this information, but rather keep your favorited listing on our server so you may access this list at any time from any personal computer.

To create a visitors account click here or go to the Visitors Area and follow the link to create a new account. You will be asked a first name, valid email address (this will be your login ID) and a password. You may also choose to recieve a quarterly email from Coastal-Vacation.com regardng the website, new services and travel updates. Your email will not be sold to or shared with third parties (see our privacy policy for details).

How do I retrieve my forgotten password?

If you know your login, our server can automatically email you your password. From the Visitors Area select the password reminder link located just below the login prompt.

How do I update/change my visitor account information?

In order to perform these maintenance activities, first log into your visitors account. Then, form the Visitors Control Panel, select "Edit My Account". You will then be able to edit/change any information you entered when you created your account.

Remember, VacationRentalOptions.com reserves the right to delete any visitors account that has been inactive for more than 12 months.
